Switch-off Fortnight & Goodbye Standby

The Eco-Committee were invited to school assemblies this week (7th - 10th May) to promote two campaigns to save energy, "Switch-off Fortnight" and "Say Goodbye to Standby".

A special mention goes out to Leah Prescott (EF6) and Alex Forber (OWR6). They stood up and spoke to their peers about the causes of global warning and how the Academy can help by signing up as Eco Monitors and by remembering to switch off devices when they are not in use.

A new desktop wallpaper on the Academy workstations will be used to remind students to switch off and say goodbye to standby. An audit was conducted before the assemblies to see what impact the campaigns have. Our target is to use less electricity than last May (65,000kWh).
