Bin It Road Show!

On Tuesday the 14th May Y7 and Y8 were given a presentation from members of an anti-litter campaign group called "Bin it!".

Bin It is a free award winning educational road show designed to tackle the impact of unnecessary littering and helps students to understand why it is so important to take personal responsibility for correct litter disposal. One way to help stop littering is to change behaviour and this Bin it! interactive road show aims to do just that.

Sophie Charnley (Y8 student) said, "I really enjoyed watching the road show, "Bin It!". The people who performed it were really funny and they told us a lot about why people drop litter, how they damage the environment and how you can be fined £60. They also told us that in Liverpool city centre last year there was a lot of gum on the floor and how it cost the government over £1,000,000 to clean up. They got the audience involved which made everyone laugh and think about littering. It was amazing!"

Chantelle Coad also in Y8 said, "The people who performed the road show were really funny and stayed in character throughout. They told us about how much it cost Liverpool to clean up the city streets and how people can be fined £60 for dropping litter. They got the audience involved and made them laugh. It was fantastic!"

Mrs Bowes said, "I have really noticed a difference in the amount of little around the Academy this week. It has reduced considerably!"
