Outdoor classroom - bird feeders

"THERE BE DRAGONS AT THE LAKE!"

OK to be more accurate dragonflies; a number of different species were observed doing laps or just darting around the lake, an outdoor classroom, on the warm, sunny, Friday afternoon of 24 th August, by Mr Tully. Mr Tully was at the lake area to collect Hope's first batch of Academy made compost; this compost was used to enrich the soil in the science garden area. Visitors to the lake classroom should note that as scary as these insects can appear they do not sting or bite; enjoy their beauty.

During the summer holidays Mr Tully (Lead Curriculum Support Assistant for Science) installed a number of bird feeders and set up a large cold running composter at the Academy Pond. He may be installing nesting boxes, for next spring, on the rafters on the edge of the roof of the outdoor classroom.
Below are some images of the bird feeders and composter.
